On November 1st and 2nd of 2023, the Tribal Community Coordinating Center (TCCC), a project of ETR, hosted an in-person gathering at the California Endowment Center in Sacramento, CA. This gathering brought together staff and partners from the 11 funded Tribal and 5 Tribal-serving tobacco control projects. These projects are funded by the California Tobacco Prevention Program (CTPP) to address commercial tobacco-related disparities affecting the American Indian populations in California. The objectives of Day One were to increase awareness of how systems of power impact and oppress youth; acquire a set of techniques to create engaging presentations tailored to young audiences; and develop communication skills to effectively recruit and engage with youth in project-related activities. Day Two objectives were to learn about policy related tools and resources used by other Tribal tobacco control projects; generate new ideas and potential adaptations for their own work through meaningful engagement with staff from other projects; feel more comfortable when discussing commercial tobacco control issues with their own community members; and engage meaningfully with individuals from beyond Tribal projects. TCCC invited Hershel Clark, MPH from the Southwest Navajo Tobacco Education Prevention Project and Air Is Life Coalition to present on the passage of the Navajo Nation Niłch'í Éí Bee Ííńá – Air is Life Act. Our Summit will bring together local Native American youth and young adults throughout Northern Coastal California to address issues such as Native youth commercial tobacco use, how Big Tobacco Companies are targeting youth to sell their product, Commercial Tobacco Product Waste and it's damage to our lands, our Native youth using their voices to help make a change, as well as the difference between sacred and commercial tobacco.

Redwood Valley Rancheria EPA collaborated with the Breathe Again Project to bring to you our very own 3 day Earth Day! We put together a simple DIY water filtration system, youth planted annual vegetables in our tribal garden, and were very productive with tobacco litter/waste clean-up around the reservation.
